2022 Edition 1 - 15/7/22
Principal's Message
Welcome to our FIRST edition of our e-newsletter!
My name is Wuanita Meyrick and I am the Foundation Principal of the new primary school to open in Ripley in 2023. Our school will be located on Binnies Road and will cater for Prep to Year 6. It is currently still a construction site, with no public access.
Our e-newsletter will be published fortnightly this year as a trial communication tool to connect with our future families and community. The link to our newsletter will be posted on Facebook and can be accessed through our website. I aim to provide you with up to date information and share our planning and progress. There will also be a community news section that may highlight any important community events.
In our next edition, I look forward to introducing our Foundation Leadership Team of two Deputy Principals and a Business Manager.
I hope you enjoy browsing our first edition!
Mrs Wuanita Meyrick
Foundation Principal
Expression of Interest Enrolments are now open for Prep to Year 6 to commence 2023. Visit our website https://newprimaryschoolripley.eq.edu.au/enrolments to submit.
Construction of our new school
Our school site will be handed over in stages. When stage 1 and 2 are complete we will have capacity for approx. 1200 students. Our school will have an administration block and onsite uniform shop. We will also have designated prep classrooms and general learning areas for Year 1-6. Our Curiosity Centre will be where the past meets the future and will be an integral hub of resourcing for our school. Our hall will have our OSHC (Outside of School Hours Care) classroom as well as a stage, sporting facilities, our instrumental music classroom, a music classroom and a dance & drama classroom. There are many other features in our school that we will share over the coming year.
Our School Values & Motto
We will be EPIC Learners! This means we are Empowered, Polite, Inclusive and Careful. Over the year we will unpack this further to build a shared understanding of our values. Input from our recent Community Meetings was very positive, with many ideas generated about what this means for our students, staff and our community.
Our motto, Passion & Purpose, will underpin our school culture and ways of working together. It articulates our Principal’s intention to passionately create an authentically purposeful learning environment for our students, staff and wider community.
We look forward to developing our School Vision together over the next 12 months.
Employment Opportunities
This year we will recruit teacher aides, cleaners, a school's officer (grounds and facilities), administration staff, IT Tech, classroom and specialist teachers. Many of these positions are initially open to applicants via transfer, however may also be advertised wider. Keep an eye out for information over the coming months. Our Foundation Leadership team has been recruited and will be introduced next edition.
Externally to our school recruitment processes, a position has been advertised on Seek for the retail assistant of our onsite uniform shop.

Uniform Design Update
This fortnight, Mrs Meyrick has been meeting with our successful uniform supplier following the procurement process last term. Focus has been on fabric selection, design and colours and disucssing some uniform pieces to add to assist with cooler weather in our area. In an upcoming meeting with our Parent Advisory Group, Mrs Meyrick will share information and seek feedback. We will keep you updated on progress. Community consultation regarding a formal uniform option (in addition to a day uniform and house shirt) will be sent to our EOI enrolment families and email distribution list next week.
