Principal's Message - Mrs Meyrick
Welcome to Term 2
Thank you to all of our families that attended Know Grow Glow Interviews on Monday. It was wonderful to see parents meeting with teachers to discuss what their child knows, how they could grow and where they glow in their learning. A special thank you to our teachers for their extended day.
Curiosity Centre borrowing will commence very soon. Please ensure your child has a library bag. This can be from our onsite uniform store, or from your preferred retail store. It needs to be made of the waterproof style material to help protect our resources. Please note, damages and loss of books may be invoiced so we can replace them. Your child's class will have a designated day and will visit fortnightly. We aim to have borrowing commence in week 4.
Cooler weather uniform options - please ensure you are ready for the weather change that will soon be apon is. Visit our uniform store or order online. If you need the online code, please contact administration.
This term we welcome new staff to our team, including our new DP for Prep to Year 2 and our Head of Inclusion. Please see their newsletter items for introduction. We also welcome a new HPE teacher to support our growth in classes, new TAs and we are finalising recruitment for other positions across our school too.

Deputy Principal's Message - Ms Yager
Welcome Back for Term 2!
As we embark on another exciting term, I want to extend a warm welcome back to all our students, parents, and community members. We are looking forward to a term filled with enriching experiences and new opportunities for growth and learning.
Swimming Program for Years 2 and 3
We are thrilled to announce that swimming lessons will commence on Monday of Week 2 for all students in Years 2 and 3. This important part of our curriculum is designed to enhance students' knowledge and skills in water safety, including survival and rescue techniques. Prioritising personal safety in, on, and around water is a crucial skill, and our program aims to equip our students with the confidence and knowledge to handle water environments safely.
As these lessons are fully funded by the school and a part of our Australian Curriculum for Health and Physical Education (HPE), we encourage all students to participate fully. This is a fantastic opportunity for our young learners to develop essential life skills in a supportive and structured environment.
Life Education Visit for Years 5 and 6
We are also excited to welcome Life Education to our school on Monday 29th and Tuesday 30th April. Our students in Years 5 and 6 will engage in a comprehensive program that explores various components of identity. They will celebrate uniqueness and diversity, recognise character strengths in themselves and others, and delve into the influences that shape personal identity.
This program is a key part of our Health unit this term and will assist students in addressing important questions about the development of their own identities. It’s a unique opportunity to foster self-awareness and understanding among our students, supporting their growth both inside and outside the classroom.
Thank you for your ongoing support and commitment to our school community. Here’s to a productive and fulfilling Term 2!
Ms Petra Yager | Deputy Principal

BORROWED UNIFORMS
A reminder to those families who have borrowed uniforms from the school. We currently find ourselves facing a shortage of spare uniforms. Therefore, I kindly ask that any borrowed items be returned to the school at your earliest convenience.
Please note that failure to return borrowed uniforms may result in families being invoiced for the items. Your co-operation in this matter is greatly appreciated.

Auslan News
On Monday 15th April we welcomed David Grant, a Deaf guest to our school. David presented on assembly and explained where he was from and his work now in the theatre and on social media.
The older grades enjoyed a separate session with him where they were able to ask David questions about his childhood and experiences as a Deaf person. It was great to see students gain further confidence and further practice their signing skills.
